Blister prevention – the key to amazing feet

A girl can never have too many pairs of shoes. However, as fun as shopping might be and as gorgeous as the new pair might look, shoes can get very uncomfortable. Most people imagine that only extremely high heels are a pain to wear, but blisters can appear in comfy sports shoes just as easily. Sometimes, this happens because you bought the wrong size, other times because the shoes need some “wearing in” to become more comfortable. In any case, every woman knows how unpleasant it can be to go for a walk in the park hoping to have some fun, but instead spend her time on a bench because blisters make it impossible to walk. Most women get used to the idea that they simply have to live with blisters and just stock up on plasters. However, blister prevention is a better and more affordable solution.

Sometimes it’s on the side of the foot, sometimes it’s at the bottom, depending on the shoes and the way you walk. Paradoxically, running shoes, which should be the most comfortable, are the ones that cause the most painful blisters. Even with socks, the feet sweat and humidity causes friction, resulting in blisters. Women athletes are the ones who suffer the most. Apart from the fact that it can be very painful to keep on training as the blister becomes more and more swollen, these seemingly benign foot ailments dramatically reduce performance and can even cause injuries.

The widespread belief is that women athletes should invest in high quality sport shoes that reduce humidity and have a special protective layer. While good sports shoes are a must, they alone do not guarantee the elimination of blisters, even if they cost ten times the amount regular shoes. However, there is a simple solution that works wonders, even if it only costs a few dollars: blister prevention socks. They are usually made from a very light material, so you don’t have to worry about the shoes getting to tight or two hot. The extra layers acts as protection, reducing heat and preventing friction. This way, you can keep on walking, running and exercising for as long as you want, without worrying about the tiny, yet annoying blisters. Even if they are small, they indicate that you spend a lot of time in uncomfortable shoes. The pain might be bearable and pass quickly, but if you’re a professional athlete who spends several hours a day in such conditions, you risk severe problems later in life. Bad footwear habits leave marks and even if your feet might look normal in your 20s, there is risk of developing more serious problems in the future. As they say, prevention is better than treatment, so if you want to make sure that your feet stay healthy and beautiful invest in a good pair of anti-blister socks.
